Minimum hourly rate, trading on Sundays, determining and accounting for working time - these are just some of the most known issues that fall within the scope of labour law.

Other important issues also include the minimum wage for work, employee rights and obligations or legal regulations for working conditions (occupational health and safety).

The Ministry drafts solutions and coordinates tasks in the areas of individual and collective labour law (e.g. collective agreements, collective disputes). The Ministry is responsible for preparing governmental drafts of amendments to the Labour Code as well as other drafts of legal acts on labour law.

The Ministry is responsible for directing the works aiming to adjust the Polish legislation on labour law to match the European Union law.
