The Ministry's mission is to lay the foundations for enhancing the quality of life in the areas of family, work and social security - a strong family, stable work, active senior citizens and a decent pension.

MRPiPS

With effect from December 16, 2023, the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy was established by way of transformation of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy.

By Prime Minister's Decree of August 12, 2021, the previous scope of action of the Minister of Family and Social Policy was extended to include the labour department.
 

The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy consists of organisational units handling matters from the government administration department "social security", "family", "labour".

The social security department covers the following matters:

  • social security and social provision;
  • pension funds;
  • social assistance and benefits to vulnerable individuals and households;
  • countering pathologies;
  • government social assistance programmes, particularly for individuals and households in difficult material and social situations, as well as for groups at risk of social exclusion;
  • social benefits, employment, social and vocational rehabilitation of people with disabilities;
  • social economy, social entrepreneurship, including social cooperatives;
  • veterans and repressed persons;
  • coordination of social security systems, with the exception of therapeutic benefits in kind

The family department covers the following matters:

  • demographic conditions in the country,
  • childcare for children up to the age of three,
  • protection and support of families with dependent children, in particular families in difficult financial and social situations,
  • development of the child foster care system,
  • coordination and organization of cooperation between public administration bodies, non-governmental organisations and institutions in the implementation of family and child rights,
  • international cooperation on the implementation and protection of family and child rights.

The labour department covers the following matters:

  • employment and unemployment prevention, 
  • labour relations and working conditions, 
  • salaries and employee benefits, 
  • collective labour relations and industrial disputes,

trade unions and employers' organisations.
