Act guaranteeing the annual payment of the 14th pension adopted by the Sejm

The Sejm of the Republic of Poland adopted the Act introducing the annual payment of the 14th pension on a permanent basis. „This new solution is an expression of care for our pensioners, gives them an additional financial support that will allow them to better manage everyday expenses and enjoy a well-deserved rest” – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.
The fourteenth pension in its full amount will be paid to those whose benefit does not exceed PLN 2,900, i.e. more than 6.8 million people. Others – 1.5 million old age and disability pensioners – will receive it reduced on the „PLN for PLN” basis.
The new Act is an expression of care for our pensioners, but also a proof that their efforts and hardships over the years of work are appreciated. Seniors will not have to wonder whether the fourteenth pension will be granted to them next year – now, they will be sure that this benefit will stay with us for good – says Minister Marlena Maląg.
The adopted Act states that the Council of Ministers will be able – if necessary – to increase the amount of this benefit.
The permanent introduction of additional benefits into the legal order will make old age and disability pensioners feel safer.
