Allowances for family assistants – the Family Assistant Programme for 2021 has been launched

Nearly 3.8 thousand family assistants will receive salary allowances of up to PLN 2,000 gross. This is a form of appreciation for assistants, who are an important link in the family support system. The Ministry of Family and Social Policy will allocate PLN 8 million for the payment of allowances.

Salary allowances will be paid as part of the ministerial Family Assistant Programme for 2021. They will be received by nearly 3.8 thousand family assistants from all over Poland, indicated by local governments. Each assistant will receive a salary allowance of up to PLN 2,000 gross either in a one-off form or divided into several parts, pro rata to the employment proportion. The budget of the programme amounts to PLN 8 million.

Allowances are a form of appreciation of the effort and involvement of family assistants in carrying out their tasks for families with children.

What does a family assistant do?

The family assistant is responsible for providing universal assistance to families having problems with performing their care and educational functions. The role of the family assistant is to help the family improve their life situation, teach them how to properly run the household, as well as help families solve social, health, psychological and educational problems. In addition, the family assistant is to support the daily activity of the family, motivate them to improve their situation.

The activities undertaken by the assistant consist, inter alia, in developing, together with interested persons, a catalogue of forms of support which can be received and acting on their behalf in order to make it possible for them to use the assistance they are entitled to.
