April is a good month in the labour market

The registered unemployment rate estimated by the Ministry at the end of April 2023 amounted to 5.3%. When compared to the previous month, the rate decreased by 0.1 percentage points, and when compared to the end of April 2022 it was lower by 0.3 percentage points.

These statistics best demonstrate the efficiency of the support instruments implemented by the government in difficult times. The multi-billion support for entrepreneurs during the pandemic allowed to protect millions of Poles from redundancies and crisis, and as a result, millions of Polish families – indicates the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

The lowest unemployment rate at the end of April was recorded in Wielkopolska (3%).

At the end of April, the number of registered unemployed people included 16.3 thousand unemployed citizens of Ukraine and they accounted for 2% of the total number of unemployed people. When compared to the end of March, the number of unemployed citizens of Ukraine decreased by more than 1 thousand.
