At the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy on perinatal care standards
24.09.2025
The 4th meeting of the team responsible for developing solutions to support parents experiencing pregnancy loss and the death of a child shortly after birth was held at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy on 24 September 2025. It was devoted to perinatal care standards. The meeting was attended by the Minister, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, and the Deputy Minister, Aleksandra Gajewska.
The next step after legal changes
On 6 August this year, two regulations came into force simplifying the procedures for granting shortened maternity leave and funeral allowances for women after the loss of a pregnancy – regardless of its duration and without the need to determine the sex of the child. The change to this heartless law was one of the reasons for the creation of our team. It is a change that came about thanks to your initiative and impetus, for which I am very grateful,
– emphasised the Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk when opening the meeting.
Standards of care and the perspective for patients
The team continues its work, and its last meeting was devoted to standards of perinatal care – both the experiences of patients and the changes planned by the Ministry of Health in the care of women in special situations.
