01.04.2022

On 1 April this year, a new solution for families with small children comes into force, i.e. co-financing for the stay of a child in a nursery, children’s club or day-care provider. This is even PLN 400 per month for those children who do not receive family care capital. In order to pay less for care, a parent must submit an appropriate application.

Co-financing for the stay in a nursery from today!Parent, apply

The support for parents in combining family life with work is the goal of both the co-financing for the stay of a child in a nursery, children’s club or day-care provider, which comes into force on 1 April this year, as well as of family care capital operating since the beginning of the year.

Let us reiterate. Family care capital is granted for the second and each subsequent children in the family, provided that the child meets the age criterion – from the age of 12 to 35 months. This is PLN 500 per month for two years or 1,000 per month for a year – a total even up to PLN 12,000. The money is paid to parents and they decide what to spend it on.

Co-financing, e.g. for a nursery. For whom?

– For parents of those children who do not receive family care capital – that is, for example, the first and only children in the family, as well as children who are younger or older than the age criterion envisages – we have prepared another solution. This is the co-financing for the stay of a child in a nursery, children’s club or day-care provider. This is up to PLN 400 per month. We want parents to pay less for the care of their children, we want them to be able to afford this care – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

The co-financing amounts to up to PLN 400 per month – but not more than a parent pays for care, taking into account subsidies from the municipal budget, EU funds and discounts granted by the entity conducting the facility, but without food.

If this fee is lower, the co-financing will also be correspondingly lower. If more – then it will amount to PLN 400.

Parent, apply

If a parent or guardian wants to receive such co-financing – they must submit an appropriate application.

This can be done from 1 April this year, by electronic means, via:

  • Empatia portal of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy,
  • ZUS Electronic Services Platform,
  • Electronic banking.

Although the co-financing comes into force on 1 April 2022, it is granted with compensation from 1 January.

Accepting applications for co-financing, their processing and transferring funds is carried out by the Social Insurance Institution. The whole process takes place electronically.
