The Statistics Poland informed that employment in July increased by 2.3% year on year. In turn, the average remuneration in the enterprise sector in July (year on year) increased by 15.8% and amounted to PLN 6,778.63 gross.

- We are recording unemployment at the lowest level in more than 30 years, and there is also a record-high level of employment. This shows that neither the pandemic nor the arrival of millions of citizens of Ukraine to Poland disturbed the labour market – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

As the Head of the Ministry of Family stresses, thanks to the simplification of procedures, 420 thousand Ukrainians have already found employment, which shows that they have been very comfortable with the labour market and filled the gaps existing in some industries.

Record-high level of employment in Poland

The number of persons employed in Poland in the second quarter of 2022 amounted to 16.8 million – according to the Eurostat data. Between the fourth quarter of 2019 and the second quarter of 2022, employment in Poland increased by 2.7%.

For comparison, at the same time in Spain and Germany, employment stagnated (a decrease by 0.6% and an increase by only 0.4%, respectively). Across the EU, employment increased by 1.4%.

– The labour market in Poland is doing really well against a background of other European Union countries. What is more, the level of employment in Poland is one of the highest in history – points out Minister Marlena Maląg.

The number of the unemployed in July has been the lowest since 1990.
