Since May 1, 2004 Poland has been a rightful member of the European Union. Everywhere we are treated the same way as all other EU citizens – we have the same rights to old-age and invalidity pension, to family and sickness benefits, or to medical care. We owe it to coordination of the social security systems.

The guiding principle is that persons to whom the Regulations apply are subject to the legislation of a single Member State only.

All these institutions shall provide you with information, e.g. on social security schemes in EU countries, shall make available to you the EU regulations with lists of involved institutions in Poland and in other EU countries.
