Eurostat. Poland once again at the forefront of the countries with the lowest unemployment rate

The unemployment rate for June 2022 amounted to 2.7 percent, which is the same as in the previous month – show the Eurostat data. – This value is much better than a year ago. The June unemployment year was also much below the EU average. Situation on the labour market in Poland is both stable and satisfying – says Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy.

Eurostat. Poland once again at the forefront of the countries with the lowest unemployment rate

The EU unemployment rate in June this year reached 6 percent, while in the Eurozone 6.6 percent – show the latest Eurostat data.

Poland once again was ranked second among the EU states with the result of 2.7 percent. Only Czech recorded lower unemployment rate again – 2.4 percent. We are followed by Germany with 2.8 percent – recites the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.

Lower unemployment rate among the youth

Situation on the labour market in Poland is therefore better than a year ago, when the unemployment rate was 3.4 percent (following the Eurostat methodology).

In addition, the improvement is also visible in the group of youth up to 25 years of age. Unemployment rate in this group amounted to 8.6 percent compared with 12.9 percent in June of the previous year. The EU and Eurozone average is 13.6 percent – points out Minister Marlena Maląg.

Record low unemployment rate in Poland

According to data provided by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy and confirmed by Statistics Poland, the registered unemployment rate as of the end of June this year is 4.9 percent.

This is a historical outcome, the best since 32 years. It is the best proof that situation on the Polish labour market is good – and remained unchanged despite of the pandemic, receiving the Ukrainian citizens fleeing from war and opening our labour market for them. In contrary, the situation continues to improve – emphasizes the Head of MFSP.
