Increased minimum wage. The Council of Ministers took a decision.

The minimum wage in the next year will amount to PLN 2,800 - as stated in the regulation accepted last Tuesday by the Council of Ministers. Next year will also see the increase of the hourly rate up to PLN 18.30. – The increases will allow to increase the income of households in the next year by nearly PLN 3 billion – says the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.

The regulation on the minimum wage just accepted by the Council of Ministers assumes the increase of minimum wages in the next year by PLN 200, up to PLN 2,800. That means a year-to-year increase of 7.7%

Minimum wages - in relation to the average remuneration in the national economy anticipated for 20201 (PLN 5,259) - will reach the level of 53.2% in the next year.

Minimum hourly rate increased

The minimum hourly rate which directly influences the minimum wage, will also increase in the next year. Currently, the minimum hourly rate equals PLN 17.00, while in the next year it is going to increase up to PLN 18.30.

Our aim is to ensure that the incomes of Polish citizens continue to increase, that is why the United Right has been paying as much attention to large increases in the minimum wage. We have also introduced a minimum hourly wage, which had not been applicable previously - reminds the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.

The Minister enumerates that the next year’s increase in the minimum wage to PLN 2.800 is going to cause an increase in the income of households by nearly PLN 3 billion. Nearly 1.75 million employees receive minimum wage.
