Opening of the Centre for Social Services

On Monday, the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg, attended the ceremonial opening of the Centre for Social Services in Kozienice.

Centres for social services are to gather services from various systems – social welfare, family policy, health protection and promotion, culture, public education, but also support for persons with disabilities. They are to offer support to all residents – not only persons in a difficult financial or life situation, but also elderly people, the disabled, large families – all residents of the commune.

Centres for Social Service are an initiative of President Andrzej Duda, thanks to which the quality and scope of social services provided at the local level is growing. We allocated PLN 130 million for the pilot creation of centres, thanks to which 43 centres will be created – said Minister Marlena Maląg during a press briefing.

The project entitled „Centre for Social Services in the Commune of Kozienice as a place of integration and coordination of social services for residents” received more than PLN 3 million of co-financing from the European Social Fund and the State budget as part of a pilot competition for the creation of CUS organised by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy.

The Head of the Ministry of Family also talked about the social, family and senior policies, support for persons with disabilities, as well as the role of cooperation with self-governments in implementing the tasks for the benefit of local communities.

The Commune of Kozienice will have a Care and Residential Centre soon

What is important, this is not the only project to be created in Kozienice thanks to government co-financing. At the meeting, the Minister gave the Mayor of the commune a promise to co-finance the creation of a Care and Residential Centre. This is nearly PLN 2.2 million. The Centre will support 15 adults with disabilities with a significant and moderate degree of disability, including 7 persons as part of a round-the-clock stay and 8 persons as part of day stay.

Then, Minister Maląg visited the „Senior+” Club, where she met with the participants in the activities. The last point of the visit to Kozienice was a nursery. The facility has been expanded, inter alia, thanks to the funds from the „Toddler+” programme, which also supports the functioning of facilities for the youngest children.
