Labour market in February 2026

According to the data of Statistics Poland, 954,900 unemployed were registered in labour offices at the end of February 2026. On the other hand, as Eurostat indicates, in January this year Poland has recorded the lowest unemployment rate in the European Union.

Labour market in February 2026

We have received the data on the labour market situation at the end of February 2026. At that time, 954.9 thousand unemployed were registered in labour offices. According to the data of Statistics Poland (GUS), the unemployment rate stood at 6.1 per cent. 

Importantly, in February this year, the number of job vacancies and professional activation schemes reported to labour offices increased by 16 per cent compared to the previous month, reaching 30,5 thousand. 

Poland with the lowest unemployment rate in the EU 

The unemployment rate in January 2026, calculated in accordance with the Eurostat definition, stood at 3.1 per cent in Poland, down by 0.1 percentage point compared to the previous month. The EU average in this period amounted to 5.8 per cent, and in the euro area - to 6.1 per cent. 

Poland thus ranked first in the European Union among the countries with the lowest unemployment rates (alongside Bulgaria). The Czech Republic ranked second, with an unemployment rate of 3.2 per cent. The highest unemployment rate was recorded in Finland (10.2 per cent) and Spain (9.8 per cent).
