Maja Nowak, a new Government Plenipotentiary for Persons with Disabilities

On 11 December 2025, the Minister for Family, Labour and Social Policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, appointed Maja Nowak as the Government Plenipotentiary for Persons with Disabilities and the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

Who is Maja Nowak?

She is an interpreter-guide for the deaf blind, a trainer and an examiner for interpreter-guide training courses.
For nearly 20 years, she has been involved in social activities as a volunteer and a leader of non-governmental organisations.

She comes from Bytom Odrzański in the Nowa Sól district. She is the mother of a son with disability, which reinforces her vulnerability to the situation of families caring for persons with disabilities and helps her to understand better the barriers they face in their daily lives.

She is a Member of Parliament of the 10th term of office, served as Vice-Chair of the Social Policy and Family Committee and Chair of the Subcommittee on Persons with Disabilities and Social Inclusion, as well as the Parliamentary Group for Persons with Disabilities.

At the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, she will be responsible for matters related to persons with disabilities - supervising the development of the adequate support system for this group of people. She will implement tasks related to the management of the Solidarity Fund - the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Persons with Disabilities (BON) will report to her.
