The government had time until September 15 to adopt the regulation on the minimum salary for work in 2022. Previously, in the forum of the Social Dialogue Council, the social partners failed to reach an agreement on this issue, which imposed on the Council of Ministers an obligation to determine the minimum salary in the form of a regulation.

Minimum salary in 2022

On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers determined that in 2022 the minimum salary for work would be PLN 3,010. This is PLN 210 more than the minimum salary this year (PLN 2,800), which means an increase of 7.5%.

In turn, the hourly rate related to the minimum salary was set at the level of at least PLN 19.70. This means an increase by PLN 1.40 when compared to 2021.

– Increasing the minimum salary for work will have a positive impact on the financial situation of households, by increasing the income of employees requiring special protection, particularly during the pandemic – explains Minister Maląg.

Next year, the minimum salary will account for 50.8% of the average salary in the national economy forecast for 2022 (PLN 5,922).

The increase in the minimum salary will be effective as from 1 January 2022.
