Minister of Labour met directors of labour offices and Voluntary Labour Corps (OHP)

On 2 February 2026, the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, visited Wrocław, where she held a meeting with the directors of labour offices and the Voluntary Labour Corps. The main subject of the meeting was to summarise the aid measures in connection with the flood which had affected districts in the Dolnośląskie, Lubuskie, Śląskie and Opolskie Voivodeships in September 2024.

It was you, filled with empathy and commitment, who rushed to help. You have supported those affected during this difficult time with a kind word and organised financial support. You have provided assistance in receiving help, cleaning houses, working with local authorities and other institutions. This support was often provided with stress, fatigue and at the expense of your own families who could not rely on your presence as much as usual. You have shown the truly human side of public administration actors

- Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk said, thanking for the support provided.

Support from the Labour Fund

In the Labour Fund's financial plan for 2024, the amount of PLN 100 million has been secured for instruments financed by the Labour Fund implemented under the Act on special solutions related to eliminating the consequences of floods.

In addition, the amount of PLN 20 million was secured within the Labour Fund reserve to finance activation measures carried out by district and regional labour offices as part of their professional activation programmes for the unemployed in areas where natural disasters occurred in 2024.

Aid was provided to thousands of people

As the head of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy informed, in terms of instruments arising from the Flood Act, the total of almost 849 applications for more than 13.3 thousand people were submitted by 31 December 2025, of which 9.6 thousand people were granted support in the amount of PLN 133.6 million (PLN 133.4 million to employers and PLN 205.2 thousand to the unemployed).

On the other hand, in terms of instruments for employers, a total of 718 applications for 13.2 thousand people were submitted to district labour offices and support was granted to 9.4 thousand people for the amount of PLN 133.4 million.

In total, under the Flood Act support and public works financed from the reserve, until 31 December 2025 the district labour offices have paid or written off a total of PLN 139.0 million and provided support to more than 10.1 thousand people.

These amounts and figures represent the concrete  support for concrete people. The support that would not have been possible without your participation.

As Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk pointed out, the Voluntary Labour Corps was very actively involved in helping those affected by the floods. Young people from the Training and Education Centre in Nowa Sól helped to secure the flood embankments, the Labour Corps in Wołów joined in helping to build a flood barrier in Brzeg Dolny and the Relaks Centre organised the stay for children from flooded areas.

I would therefore hereby like to thank you all for your commitment. Please accept these expressions of gratitude and appreciation, modest in comparison to what you have done, for your commitment to helping those affected by the floods.

– Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk emphasised.
