Ministry of Family and UNICEF together for children

12.10.2022

The Ministry of Family and Social Policy and UNICEF have signed a memorandum on cooperation in providing help to children who have found shelter in Poland after Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Ministerstwo Rodziny i UNICEF razem na rzecz dzieci

The document was signed by Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy, and the national coordinator of the UNICEF Office for Emergency Response in Poland, Rashed Mustafa Sarwar.

This is a very important document that proves that we are passing the solidarity test. The plight of children is especially close to our hearts, as they are often the most severely affected war casualties. It is easier to help when organisations like UNICEF support us. Now we will work together for the benefit of the youngest who have found shelter in Poland – says Minister Marlena Maląg.

UNICEF will participate in financing the government’s Family 500+ programme, donating for this purpose USD 20 million, i.e. approx. PLN 100 million.

Under the signed memorandum, the Ministry of Family and Social Policy and UNICEF will cooperate as part of a partnership for children, mainly by enhancing safety, early childhood development, and social protection.
