Activity and participation in social life are important for everyone. Persons with disabilities are no exception here. A great help for them is the support of personal assistants. They assist them not only in daily activities or in handling official matters – they accompany them in going to the cinema, concert and in many other activities.

– This is the extremely important support. I would like to inform that next year persons with disabilities will be able to use the support of an assistant under two ministerial programmes financed from the Solidarity Fund – the “Personal Assistant to a Disabled Person” Programme, edition 2022 and the “Personal Assistant to a Person with Disabilities” Programme, edition 2022. We also significantly increase expenditure for this purpose. In 2022, we will allocate PLN 610 million in total for the provision of assistant services – stresses the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

Thanks to the change in the financial plan of the Solidarity Fund for the implementation of the “Personal Assistant to a Disabled Person” Programme, PLN 510 million is secured for local government units next year. Initially, it was PLN 150 million.

The budget of the “Personal Assistant to a Person with Disabilities” Programme addressed to non-governmental organisations is PLN 100 million in 2022.
