The "Good start" benefit introduced last year by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will soon be regulated by law, and not – as it has been so far – by resolution and regulation.

The Seym passed the government’s amendment on extending the “Family 500+” programme. In compliance with the amendment, the right to the 500 plus benefit will be vested in all children up to the age of 18 years, irrespectively of the family’s income.

In March this year, the registered unemployment rate amounted to 5.9 percent in comparison with 6.1 percent in February. As results from the newest data of Statistics Poland, in the last month 984.7 thousand persons were registered in employment offices.

Retired persons and pensioners can rest assured – the President, Andrzej Duda signed the act on single cash benefit for retired persons and pensioners. The benefit in the amount of the lowest retirement pension – as of March this year PLN 1,100 gross – will be paid as soon as in May 2019. – This is a good day for Polish seniors and another step in the state’s senior policy map – says the Minister, Elżbieta Rafalska.

As on today, the current state family policy is assessed at least well by 62 percent of Poles – as results from the study conducted by CBOS after three years of functioning of the “Family 500+” programme. Until 2013, at most 16 percent of people had such an opinion. – I admit that I am happy with this result. It shows how important a wise family policy is and confirms that we are going in the right direction - says Minister Elżbieta Rafalska.

Over half of Poles assess the current situation in the labour market in Poland well or very well, as results from the April report of the Public Opinion Research Center. In comparison, in 2014 only every fifth respondent was of such an opinion. “Currently, opinions in this scope are the best in the history” – we read in the study.

The “Family 500+” programme is already 3 years old. It supports over 3.6 million children. Due to this programme as much as PLN 67 billion was allocated to families.
