    Traditional, paper sick leaves will no longer be used. As of 1 December they will be replaced with e-leaves. On Wednesday, 7 November representatives of the management of the Ministry of Family and the Ministry of Health start a series of meetings in all voivodeships, during which doctors and employers will be familiarised with the principles of introducing e-leaves. Meetings will last until the end of November.

    “In 2019 we propose a new mechanism of pensions and retirement pensions indexation, an increase in minimum retirement pensions and pensions to PLN 1,100, and the smallest indexation at a level of PLN 70” – informed Elżbieta Rafalska, the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

    The Council of Ministers adopted a bill on changing some acts in order to improve the effectiveness of enforcement of the maintenance benefits, submitted by the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

    Poland took a high 30thplace in the first Human Capital Index of the World Bank. What is more, the report prepared by international experts of Oxfam demonstrates that our country is the world leader in terms of expenditures for fighting against social disparities. That is not all. As results from the most recent Eurostat data, poverty among Polish children is even lower than in Germany or Sweden.

    The Poles are better off – this fact is confirmed both by the statistics (inter alia: Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS), Eurostat) and international rankings. In 2016, nearly 6.5 million persons were still at risk of relative poverty in Poland. Their number decreased by 872 thousand a year after. The situation of children has improved significantly. The number of those benefiting from social aid has decreased as well.

Nowadays, everything can be completed faster and more efficiently with the use of the Internet. For 3 years now, the Ministry of Family has been the leader in the introduction of modern IT solutions to make life easier for Polish families.

    The XXVIII edition of the Economic Forum took place on 4-6 September 2018 in Krynica. It was the most important meeting of people from the world of politics and business from Central and Eastern Europe. The event which was attended by the Management of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy was titled "Europe of common values ​​or Europe of common interests?".

    We have expanded the “Toddler+” programme by adding an extra module, which is expected to result in an increase in the number of care facilities for children up to the age of 3. The programme is aimed at communes, individuals, legal entities - including universities - and organizational units without legal personality. Subsidies are granted for the establishment of new and the functioning of existing care facilities.
