November is a good month in the labour market

Despite the continuous struggle with the pandemic, this November was another good month in the labour market in Poland. According to the Statistics Poland, fewer than 899 thousand unemployed people were registered, i.e. almost 12.1 thousand (or 1.3%) fewer than the month before and nearly 127 thousand fewer than the year before.

In November, the unemployment rate stood at 5.4%. This is by 0.7% less than last year and also less than in October when the unemployment rate was 5.5%. – I am glad that the major objective of our measures – the protection of jobs brings tangible results – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

According to the Statistics Poland data, the lowest unemployment rate in November was in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship (3.1%), while the highest unemployment rate was recorded in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship (8.5%). In half of the voivodeships, this rate was by 0.1% lower than the month before, and in the others it remained unchanged.

The unemployment rate continues to decrease despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the coming winter period, which usually weakens the labour market.
