#OjcostwoPrzygodaŻycia (Fatherhood as a Life Adventure) – the Ministry of Family and Social Policy promotes committed fatherhood

20.06.2021

The Ministry of Family and Social Policy is launching a campaign to promote committed fatherhood. The promotional campaign based on three social media spots will convince young people that being a father and active presence in the child’s life is a real life adventure – available at hand for each man.

The stereotype of the father – the only supporter of the family and of the dad who is always absent is still alive – although, fortunately, it is more and more often far from reality, giving way to a new generation of committed fathers, for whom the fatherhood is not only a responsibility but also a lot of fun.

“The approach to fatherhood has changed very much over the last few decades. Today, for many men, being a dad here and now is the role of life and a real men’s adventure, which, like each adventure, is accompanied by challenges, but also by joy, satisfaction and internal development. The campaign announced today confirms that we are serious about the declarations from the Thursday press conference, at which we presented the draft Demographic Strategy 2040. It is this strategy in which we take a broad look at the issue of family and demography. Therefore, we want to act not only through financial support for families, but also by strengthening family ties and stability” – stressed Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

The objective of the spots is to convince those who are uncertain and undecided that they should not be afraid of fatherhood and that being a dad does not end anything, just the opposite: it encourages to act and set new, ambitious goals.

“In public space, we do not talk about the role of fathers as much and as often as about motherhood, but I have no doubt that dad is as important for every child as mum. It is dad who is the first role model of a man for both son and daughter. In the eyes of his children, he is a real hero and a safe haven - said Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy.

“We wanted to show that being a dad could be a fantastic, men’s adventure full of passion and love. Being a father provides great and unforgettable emotions, comparable only to extreme sports. And we mean these sports in which they always win: with sincere, unselfish love and an opportunity to experience something extraordinary, which cannot be bought for any money” – said Barbara Socha, Government Plenipotentiary for Demographic Policy.

A part of the campaign on the occasion of Father’s Day is also the city game “Adventure with Dad” organised by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. Fathers with children were invited to play active travellers-explorers and the teams were tasked with searching the archipelago of treasures and finding suitable items in the centre of the city. The event is under patronage of the Tato.net Initiative.

The winners of the “Adventure with Dad” city game will be given a voucher for a two-day family trip to the “Pod Kogutem” agritourism farm. The second-place winners will receive a voucher for the whole family for workshops consisting in the joint design and implementation of a dream family project for home, while the third-place winners will have an opportunity to spend some time together during which the family will have an opportunity to create dream wooden bicycle baskets. There are many attractions, gadgets and educational prizes in the form of board games for all participants in the game.

“Modern young fathers want to be full-time, committed parents, and the fatherhood becomes a well-thought and important part of their identity. I am convinced that for young men, the fatherhood can be an adventure of life and can give it a completely different but equally exciting direction – said Dariusz Cupiał from the Tato.Net Initiative.

The advertising spots in three versions can be viewed on the social media of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy on the YouTube profile of the Ministry and on the Facebook profile of the Ministryand on the Po Pierwsze Rodzina profile.
