The ‘Good Start’ scheme provides 300 PLN a year towards school supplies for every school student up to the age of 20, and up to the age of 24 in the case of children with disabilities who are attending school. University students and children in pre-schools are not eligible for this benefit.

What is important, the family’s financial situation is irrelevant – the scheme does not require meeting any specific income criteria.

How to apply for the benefit?

If you want to apply for the ‘Good Start’ grant, you can do it online via:

• the mZUS app or the eZUS portal;
• the Emp@tia portal;
• your digital banking app.

Mind the deadlines!

The call for applications for the ‘Good Start’ programme runs from 1 July to the end of November each year.

The grant will be paid out by 30 September at the latest if you submit your application in July or August. The sooner, the better - that way, the money will be disbursed to the specified account as soon as possible.

If the application is submitted in the following months (September, October or November), the benefit will be paid within 2 months of the submission.
