Parents, submit an application for ‘Good Start’ by the end of August

One third of August is behind us, which means that the new school year is approaching. This entails involves new purchases - notebooks, stationery products, perhaps a new backpack or a new pair of sports shoes - there is a lot to spend on. The ‘Good Start’ envisages a payment of PLN 300 for each pupil, irrespective of the income threshold.

I strongly encourage parents and carers to apply for the ‘Good Start’ allowance as soon as possible. Submitting the application by the end of August is a guarantee that money will be paid out by 30 September at the latest - emphasizes Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.

As the Head of the Ministry of Family states, most of the parents and carers have already submitted the application, and the allowance has been granted to over 3 million children. A total of nearly PLN 827 million have been paid for 2.76 million pupils.

What to do to get the allowance?

All what needs to be done is to submit an application through:

  • the Emp@tia Portal of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy,
  • the Electronic Services Platform (PUE) of the Social Insurance Institution,
  • the electronic banking system.

Investing in the development and education of millions of children

This is to ensure equal opportunities and invest in the development and education of children. The ‘Good Start’ Programme has been an important element of the state family policy already since 2018 - says Minister Marlena Maląg.
