PLN 110 million under the solidarity allowance

PLN 110 million has already been issued to nearly 85 thousand people under the solidarity allowance. - It is a gesture of solidarity and an expression of concern for those who have lost their jobs in result of the epidemic - says Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

The solidarity allowance is payable to persons who have lost their jobs after 15 March and were employed for at least 60 days on an employment contract. The allowance amounts to PLN 1400 per month and will be paid in June, July and August. The allowance will not be combined with unemployment benefit. Beginning in September this year, the unemployment benefit will be increased to PLN 1200.

So far, 85 thousand benefits have been paid out to the total amount of PLN 110 million. Commenting on the data, the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Marlena Maląg, stressed that the introduction of the solidarity allowance is not only the implementation of the promises made by President Andrzej Duda, but above all, they constitute an important support for those who need it today. - This is a gesture of solidarity and an expression of concern for those who have lost their jobs as a result of the epidemic and have lost their source of income - said the Minister.

At the same time, she pointed out that the most important goal of the government in the era of the pandemic is to ensure labour market stability.
