PLN 5.5 million for a programme to help the homeless

A call for proposals has started for the open call for proposals under this year's edition of the "To defeat homelessness. A programme to help the homeless". Helping the homeless is an important element of social solidarity and human empathy. That is why we invite you to submit applications for financial support of projects addressed to the homeless and people at risk of homelessness," says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

PLN 5.5 million for a programme to help the homeless

The main goal of the programme is to support activities aimed at preventing and solving the problem of homelessness. In 2022, an amount of PLN 5.5 million will be allocated for the implementation of the programme. The amount of a grant for the implementation of a project ranges from PLN 50 thousand to PLN 300 thousand.

The programme is addressed to non-governmental organisations and entities conducting statutory activity in the field of social aid.

Modules with specific goals

As part of this year's competition, the following Modules are designated:

  • Module I: Prevention - the goal of this module is to prevent homelessness by conducting preventive activities. This includes among others psychological, therapeutic and legal social assistance, as well as conducting workshops facilitating finding a job for the homeless.
  • Module II: Support for the homeless - as part of this Module, the homeless will receive assistance from institutions under the so-called streetworking. They will be able to use, for example, eating-houses, clothes dispensers, or institutions providing temporary shelter. Providing them with psychological or legal assistance will be an important element of this module.
  • Module III: Infrastructure - is aimed at institutions providing temporary shelter. Funds from this module will be allocated for renovations in institutions for the homeless, adaptation of rooms or purchase of new equipment.
  • Module IV: Innovation - is an inspiration to implement new solutions in the field of helping the homeless.

Important deadlines

Eligible entities may send their offers to the social policy department of the relevant voivodeship office by 21 February this year. Offers concerning Module IV should be submitted by the mentioned deadline directly to the Department of Aid and Social Integration in the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. Settlement of the competition will take place by 20 April 2022.
