Stable situation in the labour market. Eurostat publishes unemployment data

From the Eurostat data it results that at the end of October, 574 thousand people in Poland had no job and the registered unemployment rate was 3.4 % and was at the similar level as in September. This ranks us fourth in the list of the EU states. Only the Czech Republic (2.6%), the Netherlands (2.9%) and Germany (3.3%) can show the lower unemployment rate.

The situation in the labour market is stable and the Eurostat data are the best evidence of this. We are recovering from the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic less affected than other European Union countries. This evidences the effectiveness of the instruments we have implemented to save jobs during the period of the freeze on the economy – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

The unemployment rate in Poland remains well below the EU average, which in October was 6.7 %, the same level as in September. In turn, for the Eurozone states, the average is 7.3 %, which means a decrease by 0.1% on a month-over-month basis.
