The 14th pension will become a permanent benefit

The Council of Ministers adopted a draft act on another additional annual cash benefit for old age and disability pensioners. This is a draft act introducing the payment of the so-called 14th pension on a permanent basis – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

He stressed that the policy pursued by the Law and Justice government focused on supporting elderly people. This is, for example, a government programme implemented by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy „Senior plus” and an extended list of reimbursed medicines with new age categories from next year. But it is also an extremely important financial support.

We pay the 13th and 14th pensions, which have already been permanently introduced into the legal order, last year we carried out a record-breaking indexation of benefits – reminded Prime Minister Morawiecki.

Thanks for the effort

We are obliged to thank seniors for the effort of raising future generations and working for the homeland – said Minister Marlena Maląg.

She added that the 13th pension had already been paid for 5 years, and the draft act adopted that day would guarantee that the 14th pension would also be paid every year, at least at the level of the minimum old age pension. The introduced income criterion is to ensure that more money goes to the most needy people.
