On Wednesday, the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Marlena Maląg along with the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy held a meeting with the representatives of Accord Studio Mebli furniture company in Łomianki. The company received a subsidy for employee remunerations under the European Social Fund for a total amount of over PLN 118 thousand.

– Cooperation is the key in the struggle against the pandemic. Due to the joint efforts of individual ministries, it was possible not only to smoothly introduce the government anti-crisis shields, but also to quickly allocate funds for protecting jobs which is the government's priority - said Minister Marlena Maląg during the joint press conference.

As emphasised by the Head of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, that fact proves good cooperation for the benefit of Polish citizens.

– That is evidenced by the successive solutions proposed under the shields, as well as the propositions initiated by President Andrzej Duda, such as solidarity benefit or tourist voucher for each child - added Minister Maląg.

Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak, the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy who was present at the briefing has indicated the fact that the costs related to hiring employees are one of the greatest challenges currently faced by employers. - Together with the Voivodeship Marshals we have secured funding from the European Social Fund for remuneration subsidies. We have covered over 577 thousand employees of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises, self-employed and non-governmental organisations with that type of assistance - said the Minister.

Billions for protecting employment

The information gathered by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy shows that over PLN 24.2 billion has been allocated to business owners in Poland through various support instruments under the anti-crisis shield.

In Mazovia, the total amount of support reached PLN 3.45 billion. The following funds were allocated for the purposes outlined below:

  • PLN 830 million allocated to remuneration subsidies in order to protect 193.6 thousand jobs
  • PLN 833 million of loans granted to micro-entrepreneurs
  • PLN 455.3 million granted for idle time benefits for 233.1 thousand people
  • Exemption from social security contributions of over PLN 1.28 billion.

– This is a real and much needed support for protecting jobs. We have provided all the tools and means to ensure that the support for companies is granted as fast as possible - in some cases however, the process does not go as smoothly as we wish due to the delays caused by some Mayors, for instance Rafał Trzaskowski and the Warsaw authorities - said the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
