The best day to talk about the family

On the occasion of the Mother’s Day, a meeting with the mums, organised by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, was held in Józefów. The discussion on the family policy was attended by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Minister Marlena Maląg, Government Plenipotentiary for Demographic Policy Barbara Socha as well as the Chair of the Family Council, Dorota Bojemska.

- Without mums and their children there will be no Poland – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Józefów, at the meeting on the occasion of the Mother’s day. It was attended by Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy, Barbara Socha, Government Plenipotentiary for Demographic Policy, Dorota Bojemska, Chair of the Family Council and the mums from Józefów.

Assistance needed and expected

Prime Minister Morawiecki assured of further support to be provided to families. – It is a family home where feelings come to life, love rules and children grow up – stressed the Prime Minister. Therefore, the government wants to provide specific financial support to families. The Prime Minister reminded the family-oriented programmes, which are already implemented, such as the Family 500+ or Good Start programmes.

- Now, we want to start Family Care Capital – said the Prime Minister. This will be support for mothers at the most difficult moment when, after their maternity leave, they have to decide: what to do next? Return to work? Employ a nanny? Or maybe choose a nursery? The funds paid in a flexible manner will help parents decide on the best solution.

Prime Minister Morawiecki added that discussions with mothers showed that government assistance was needed and expected. He assured that further regulatory solutions would be prepared to help mums during this most beautiful time in their lives.

The best day to talk about the family

– Can any day be more beautiful to talk about the family than this special holiday? – asked Minister Marlena Maląg in Józefów. She stressed the unique role of mothers and fathers in creating a family, being the foundation of a strong Poland.

Minister Maląg pointed out that over the last five years we had been dealing with a real revolution in the approach to the problems of families. It is about putting the family at the centre of attention. This is very well visible also in the above-mentioned Polish Deal, and in the consistent implementation of actions to improve the welfare and dignity of Polish families and solutions that are a real support and assistance for women in deciding whether to take on the role of mother.

– We will increase the funds for the construction of nurseries by 300%. Thanks to this, every local government in Poland will be able to have a nursery in its commune – said the Minister.

Minister Marlena Maląg and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also congratulated all the Mums on the occasion of their holiday.
