The call for applications for the „Accessible Public Space” programme for people with disabilities has started

Until 15 July, applications may be submitted for co-financing projects improving the accessibility of public space and services for people with disabilities. Under the programme, it is possible to receive up to 80% of co-financing.

The call for applications for the „Accessible Public Space” programme for people with disabilities has started

„I strongly encourage you to submit applications in the programme, which contributes to making public space increasingly friendly to people with disabilities. This programme’s task is to remove barriers preventing these people from functioning freely. It is a multi-annual programme and the total amount of funds allocated for it in the years 2023-2027 will amount to about PLN 300 million” – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

The following may apply for co-financing:

  1. local government units
  2. churches or other religious associations
  3. non-governmental organisations
  4. medical entities providing gynaecological care, including preconception care (care in the period before the planned pregnancy), care during pregnancy and after childbirth.

The programme is implemented in four modules:

Module A: removal of architectural or information and communication barriers by local government units or their organidational units – the planned budget of this module is PLN 50.6 million.

Module B: removal of architectural or information and communication barriers by churches or other religious associations and their legal persons – the budget of this part of the programme is PLN 12 million.

Module C: creation of accessible or improvement of accessibility of playgrounds by local government units or their organisational units, churches or other religious associations and their legal persons and non-governmental organisations – for the implementation of these tasks, PLN 10.6 million has been allocated.

Module D: removal of technical, information and communication barriers and equipping with assistive technologies and devices allowing people with disabilities to use the services provided by medical entities. This module includes the possibility of using commonly available gynaecological and obstetric care, which people with disabilities cannot use due to barriers – the amount of funds in this module is PLN 6.6 million.
