The pay-outs of the 13-th pension have started

The thirteenth pension will be paid out automatically together with the benefit on the payment date scheduled for April, except for those scheduled for payment in May (pre-retirement benefits and allowances).

Payments shall be made on the general rules adopted for the payment of benefits where the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or other public holiday.

According to the payment schedule adopted, the first benefits will go to pensioners on Thursday, 1 April.

Who has the right to receive the thirteenth pension?

In total, the additional benefit will be provided to 9.8 million pensioners. The benefits will be granted to persons who, until March 31st of the year when the pension is paid out, have the right to:

  • pension – including bridging pension, periodic capital pension and partial pension,
  • disability pensions – including pensions for war and military invalids and accident pensions,
  • training allowance,
  • social pension,
  • survivor's pension – including survivor's pension of a war or military invalid and survivor's accident pension,
  • parental supplementary benefit
  • the cash benefit for civilian blind victims of warfare,
  • teacher's compensation benefit,
  • pre-retirement benefit and allowance.

The 13th pension is equal to the lowest pension – i.e., PLN 1250,88 from 1 March this year. All pensioners will receive this benefit, including those whose benefits are lower than the guaranteed minimum pension, says the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.

No deductions or enforcements shall be made from the amount of the thirteenth pension, and it shall not be included in the income. This means that the amount of the additional annual cash benefit does not affect the entitlement of claimants to benefits, allowances, benefits, assistance or other support (e.g., rehabilitation allowance).

Thirteenth pension a fixed annual benefit

The thirteenth pension was first paid out in 2019. Since 2020, the thirteen pension is a fixed annual benefit. In 2021, we will allocate approximately PLN 12.2 billion for the payment of additional benefits.
