This is where families live best. Minister Maląg visited the "PRO FAMILIA" municipality

On Thursday Marlena Maląg, the Minister of Family and Social Policy, visited Łężany, a village in the commune of Miejsce Piastowe, this year's winner of the "Self-government PRO FAMILIA 2021" competition. - The commune of Miejsce Piastowe is an example of how pro-family policy can be well implemented by creating a broad coalition of the government, local government, NGOs and employers - said Minister Maląg.

Miejsce Piastowe in Podkarpackie Voivodeship won in the competition "Samorząd pro familia 2021" in the category of rural communes. Families with many children benefit from the City Large Family Card 3+. New residents also receive welcome packages. An important element of the family-friendly policy is also the construction of flats for young couples and the operation of municipal nurseries. The municipality is developing family recreation areas by building modern playgrounds, hiking and cycling trails.

- The government's most important tasks are to create conditions for families to function well and to get out of the demographic trap, Minister Maląg said. The solutions proposed in the Demographic Strategy 2040 and the Polish Order will serve this purpose. The development of childcare places for children up to the age of three, implemented through the "Maluch+" programme, will have an increased budget of up to 1.5 billion PLN a year.

Minister Maląg also discussed the government's pro-family policy with residents of Łężany during a family picnic.

70 "Senior+" Homes and Clubs in Podkarpacie

Minister Marlena Maląg also visited the "Senior+" Club in Łężany, where she met with the participants of the classes. Today, there are 970 Senior+ Homes and Clubs in Poland, with over 23,000 participants. More than a half of them were established in rural communes. In this year's edition of the "Senior+" programme, another 113 institutions and over 2.5 thousand new places for elderly people will be created in the whole country. With this edition, the number of "Senior+" institutions will exceed one thousand - we will have 1,090 such institutions, and the number of places will reach almost 25 thousand.

In Podkarpacie alone, there are 70 institutions offering places for over 1,600 senior citizens. In this year's edition of the "Senior+" programme, another 7 institutions for over 150 people are to be established. In the commune of Miejsce Piastowe alone there are 4 such institutions.
