Unemployment in September 2025. Forecasts by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy

In September 2025, the unemployment rate in Poland stood at 5.6%, according to estimates by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Poland remains one of the countries with the lowest unemployment rates in the EU.

The registered unemployment rate at the end of September 2025, as estimated by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, was 5.6% (0.1 percentage points higher than in August this year and 0.6 percentage points higher than in September 2024).

The lowest unemployment rate at that time was recorded in the Wielkopolskie Voivodship (3.5%cent), and the highest in the Podkarpackie Voivodship (9%).

According to preliminary data, the number of unemployed persons registered by labour offices in Poland at the end of September 2025 was 867,600.

How do we compare to other European Union countries? We are among the leaders. In August 2025, the unemployment rate in Poland, calculated according to Eurostat's definition, was 3.2% (0.1 percentage points higher than a month earlier and 0.2 percentage points higher than in August last year). The Czech Republic had the same result. Only Malta and Slovenia had lower unemployment rates, at 2.9%.

At that time, the EU average was 5.9% and the eurozone average 6.3%. The highest unemployment rate was recorded in Spain (10.3%).
