We warn against unfair practices

05.01.2024

The Family 800+ programme has been launched. The benefit has been given to almost 7 million children. However, there are signals about the use of the payment of this benefit for fraudulent practices.

We warn against unfair practices

The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy has received information about dishonest people using the payment from the Family 800+ programme to defraud people. It happens that they call or write messages offering fictitious assistance in filling out applications for child benefits.

The Ministry appeals for caution and prudence. The amount of the upbringing benefit is increased automatically; thus, there is no need to fill out any new application forms. Payments from the Family 800+ programme are made on the same dates as before but in the new amount. Parents are informed of this fact electronically.

The information about the alleged equalisation of the benefit to the amount of PLN 800 for the previous year is also untrue. Such compensation is not granted.

To be entitled to an upbringing benefit for the next period from 1 June to 31 May of the following calendar year, an application should be submitted to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) only via the Internet only, using one of three application channels:

  • the PUE ZUS platform or the ZUS mobile application
  • the Emp@tia information and service portal at empatia.mpips.gov.pl
  • electronic banking.

The child-rearing benefit is transferred in a non-cash form to the bank account indicated in the application.
