Almost EUR 5 billion from EFS+ funds for social development

12.12.2022

On 12 December this year, the European Commission approved the national programme entitled European Funds for Social Development for the years 2021-2027 (FERS), co-financed from the funds of the European Social Fund Plus.

Almost EUR 5 billion from EFS+ funds for social development

The FERS programme identifies key challenges in the area of social policies: education, employment and social inclusion, which we would like to respond to effectively within the next seven years. Strong emphasis will be placed on:

  • Development of education and lifelong learning,
  • Training of human resources for the economy,
  • Creating equal opportunities in social and professional life of people at risk of social exclusion,
  • Strengthening the health protection system,
  • Public service accessibility improvement.

Among these measures, we have planned initiatives that comprehensively address social problems common in Poland such as access to childcare for children under three or digital exclusion.

The budget of the programme amounts to approximately EUR 4.9 billion (4 billion of EU contribution).

The EC approval of the programme concludes the consultation, negotiation and arrangement phase involving a number of government institutions, regional government representatives, social partners and organisations representing civil society.

We encourage everyone to read the programme and to keep an eye on the information about the calls we are announcing, which we plan to launch in the first months of next year.
