EU financial support for the Polish-Saxon border – INTERREG POLAND-SAXONY 2021-2027 programme launches

On 14 September this year, the European Commission approved the Interred Poland-Saxony 2021-2027 cooperation programme.

The programme responds to the needs and challenged of the Polish-Saxon border. Financial support will be given to projects focusing on:

  • Adaptation to climate change,
  • Education, culture and tourism,
  • Integration of inhabitants,
  • Cooperation between institutions and citizens from Poland and Saxony.

‘This is the first of three Interreg programmes between Poland and Germany for 2021-2027 adopted by the European Commission. The launch of a new edition of the programme means that applicants will soon be able to apply for funding for their partnership projects. New opportunities to overcome development barriers are being opened for us’,

Minister Grzegorz Puda said.

The Minister stressed that the cross-border cooperation between Poland and Saxony under the Interreg programme has a tradition of almost twenty years.

‘I am happy that the Polish-German border region will be even more environment-friendly, open to education, culture, tourism and dialogue between inhabitants and institutions thanks to the new initiatives’,

he stressed.
