EU support for the Opolskie Voivodeship. The Program Contract is signed

The Program Contract is a document that details the size and spending of the EU money provided for each of the 16 regions under the 2021-2027 cohesion policy.

The money available under the new financial perspective 2021-2027 will be used to make important investments in innovation, entrepreneurship, digitalization, infrastructure, environmental protection, energy sector, education and social affairs.

In the Opolskie Voivodeship, the greatest emphasis will be placed on support for a low-carbon economy and the fight against climate change, activities related to social inclusion, improving the region's transportation accessibility and developing urban mobility.

As a part of the Program Contract for Warmia and Mazury, a package of priority projects important for the development of the voivodeship and, above all, for improving the quality of life of its residents has been agreed.

  • Green We- Opolskie counteracts Climate Change (estimated value of funding: EUR 11 million),
  • Dependent But Not Alone - development of social and support services for dependents - phase II (estimated funding value: EUR 10 million),
  • Opolskie on bicycles to service centers and workplaces (estimated value of funding: EUR 27 million),
  • Reconstruction of voivodeship’s roads, including bypasses, to facilitate access to the region's capital, the A4 Motorway and expressways (estimated value of funding: EUR 97.7 million).

It is worth noting that significant funds will also be allocated for urban and rural revitalization. The total estimated value of the funding will be EUR 45.8 million.

The Program Contract is a practical expression of cooperation between local government and the government in implementing development policy in the Polish regions. Development policy is not only EU funds implemented within the framework of the cohesion policy, but primarily a set of interrelated actions taken to ensure sustainable and balanced development of the country, socio-economic cohesion and increase of the competitiveness of the economy on a national, regional and local scale.

The Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, coordinating regional policy, is working with all local governments to effectively utilize their internal potentials and specializations to achieve sustainable national development, which will create conditions for increasing income and equalizing the standard of living for all residents of our country.
