The funds will allow the implementation of projects in support areas such as climate, environment, energy, territorial instruments, transport, entrepreneurship, educational, social and health infrastructure, culture and tourism. The new regional programme will also make the financing of initiatives relating to social services, education, health and the labour market possible.

The wide range of investments to be implemented thanks to UE funds demonstrates how important the new regional programme will be for the further development of the Lubelskie region’,

Deputy Minister Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak added.

The region will also receive support under the Eastern Poland 2021-2027 programme. The Lubelskie Voivodeship can count on support of approximately EUR 400 million under the supra-regional programme. Additionally, Lubelskie as a border region will also be able to use European Territorial Cooperation measures.

How the voivodeship uses EU money

In the past EU financial perspective for the years 2014-2020, the Lubelskie voivodeship received more than PLN 21 billion from the EU budget. This is more than PLN 10 thousand per resident of the voivodeship, which gives the region the second place when it comes to value of the per capita EU support.

All funds have already been assigned in the regional programme for the Lubelskie voivodeship for 2014-2020. The level of expenditure settled by the voivodship authorities with the European Commission exceeded 90 percent, which is the best result among the 16 regional programmes.
