The Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak, and the Swiss Ambassador to Poland, Fabrice Filliez, signed two agreements within the second edition of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme. They will enable launching the Urban Development Programme and the Research and Innovation Programme. The first will contribute to strengthening the socio-economic development of medium-sized towns cities and the second to intensifying research cooperation between research centres and businesses in Poland and Switzerland.

Safety of residents and drivers, more efficient commuting without the need to drive through the housing estates – this is the aim of the construction of the S1 expressway between Przybędza and Milówka, i.e. the Węgierska Górka bypass. The investment long-awaited by the region’s residents is getting closer to completion. The Minister for Funds and Regional Policy, Grzegorz Puda, participated on Thursday in the operation to finally pierce the last section in the tunnel being excavated in the massif of Barania Góra.

We develop sustainable urban mobility in Eastern Poland. The call for applications for funding has started. This time, the competitive call is dedicated to medium-sized cities facing socio-economic difficulties.

From 5 to 7 September, the 32nd International Economic Forum will be held in Karpacz with the conference slogan New Values of the Old Continent - Europe at the Threshold of Change. The event has for many years brought together economic, social and political leaders from Poland and abroad. Poland and Slovakia will exchange experience and good practice in the management and implementation of EU funds and take joint initiatives in the use of EU cohesion policy. Such provisions are contained in the agreement on cooperation in the field of cohesion policy between Poland and Slovakia signed by the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Grzegorz Puda, and the Minister of Investment, Regional Development and Information Technology of the Slovak Republic, Peter Balík.

The implementation of the cohesion policy in the future multi-annual financial framework of the European Union; the role of this policy in ensuring the coherent development of the EU regions, as well as the support for mining areas from the Just Transition Fund were the main topics of talks between the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Grzegorz Puda, and the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister for Regional Development of the Czech Republic, Ivan Bartoš.

On 19 July, in Otwock, the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Grzegorz Puda, and the Minister of Digital Affairs, Janusz Cieszyński, together with the mayor of the city, Jarosław Margielski, launched the “Cyber Secure Local Government” project. From now until the end of September, local authorities can apply for subsidies for cyber security measures. Almost PLN 1.9 billion will be allocated to municipalities, districts and provinces, of which PLN 1.5 billion will come from the European Funds for Digital Development programme for 2021-2027, Minister Puda announced.

The Polish-Ukrainian economic cooperation in the context of post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, the reopening of the PAIH office in Kiev, Poland's involvement in the work of the Steering Committee of the G7 Donor Coordination Platform, as well as the White Paper identifying problematic issues in PL-UA economic relations - these are the main topics raised by the Government Plenipotentiary for Polish-Ukrainian Development Cooperation, Jadwiga Emilewicz during meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian government chaired by Deputy Prime Ministers, Oleksandr Kubrakov and Iryna Vereshchuk in Kiev.

We announced the first call for proposals for co-financing of projects in the sector of culture, as well as under the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment programme. The funds will be allocated for further development of cultural institutions and the protection of cultural heritage.
