The state of implementation of the NRRP and the plan and principles for repayment of the Recovery and Resilience Facility were the main topics discussed at the second meeting of the NRRP Monitoring Committee with the participation of the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, and Deputy Minister Jan Szyszko. Representatives of other ministries, as well as local government officials and social and economic partners, non-governmental organisations and representatives of the academic community were also in attendance.

More than 1,000 calls for proposals and more than 23,000 applications for funding amounting to around PLN 240 billion – this is the state of implementation of national and regional cohesion policy programmes from the 2021-2027 perspective, which was one of the topics discussed today during the 2nd meeting of the Partnership Agreement Committee for 2021-2027.

New directions for cohesion policy after 2027 so that it is adapted to the challenges faced by European regions – this was the topic of an informal meeting of cohesion policy ministers held in Mons, Belgium, with Minister for Development Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz participating.

‘The MFiPR is launching a Winning Family competition for local governments in order to combat inherited poverty. We have PLN 40 million to distribute from the European Funds for Social Development programme, and applications for funding can be submitted until 5 April,’ the Minister for Development Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, announced today.

We support local governments in meeting accessibility requirements. The Accessible Local Government 2.0 programme is about to be launched. Public services, facilities and spaces at the disposal of LGUs will be made more user-friendly for those with special needs. The signing ceremony was attended by Monika Sikora, Deputy Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, and Wiesław Szczepański, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration.

The voivodeships of Eastern Poland – Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Świętokrzyskie and regions of Mazowieckie – will receive PLN 2 billion 379 million for the development of provincial roads from the European Funds for Eastern Poland (EFEP) programme. The purpose of the investment is to improve road connections in the region and better connect the macro-region with the rest of the country and with the European Union.

New places in nurseries, modernization of SMEs in agriculture, thermal modernization of housing, computers for schools - these are the investments for which disbursements from the NRP started today. More than PLN 332 million will go to beneficiaries.

Lublin's modern railway station is now open to the public. Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Jan Szyszko attended its opening ceremony today. The investment will connect 16 municipalities; it will be the region's transfer center; it will boost employment, including easy commuting for those in education - Lublin is a university city with 5,000 students from all over the world. The construction of the station was financed by European funds in the amount of over PLN 195 million, which constitutes nearly 2/3 of the total investment value, which amounted to approximately PLN 340 million.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, at the request of the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, appointed Konrad Wojnarowski as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy.

Implementation of the National Recovery Plan, implementation of EU programs from the 2021-2027 financial perspective, the future of the Cohesion Policy after 2027 and Poland's presidency in 2025 - these are the most important topics discussed during the two-day visit (January 10-11) of the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz to Brussels.
