Poland is strengthening its digital resilience based on EFDD funds
06.03.2026
Investment in data protection and ICT infrastructure forms the basis of a new priority under the European Funds for Digital Development (EFDD) programme. The European Commission has approved the amendments that will strengthen our system of defence against cyberattacks and enhance the level of Polish citizens' data protection. We will allocate over two billion zlotys for that purpose.
The new priority aims to ensure that digital services essential for public administration, public safety and defence continue to function without disruption in times of crisis – for example, during cyber-attacks, power failures, severe storms or equipment supply issues.
We have allocated 28 per cent of the EFDD programme budget to this new task, amounting to approximately PLN 2.3 billion (EUR 553 million). Due to this funding, computer data and ICT infrastructure will be better protected.
The revised programme is already in force.

Investment under the EFDD programme expands access to ultra-fast broadband Internet, advanced e-services, enhances cyber-security and improves the digital skills of government employees.
The budget of the programme amounts to almost PLN 8.5 billion.
