Owing to the European Commission’s positive decision, approximately 30.6 billion zlotys (7.2 billion euros) will be transferred to Poland in just a few weeks’ time. We will use funds from the 6th and 7th payment request under the NRP to co-finance key investments that support national security, the sustainable development of cities and regions, and improve citizens’ quality of life. This money will be invested in, among others:

• railway construction and modernisation;
• passenger rolling stock;
• cyber security;
• purchase of ecological buses;
• thermal modernisation of schools and kindergartens;
• increasing access to high-speed internet where it is unavailable;
• digitalisation of medical services;
• modernisation of hospitals and retrofitting medical universities with research equipment;
• development of transmission networks, electricity infrastructure and hydrogen technologies.

We will submit two final payment requests under the NRP before the end of this year. The eighth payment request – following the completion of the current review of the NRP – and the ninth payment request in September. In 2026, a total of approximately 100 billion zlotys will be transferred to Poland.

Billions for Polish investment projects

To date, over a million contracts have been signed under the NRP, with the total funding of nearly 210 billion zlotys, which accounts for almost 87 per cent of the total budget allocated to Poland. Over 98 billion zlotys was contracted under the grant component, and over 111 billion zlotys under the loan component.
