Poland will receive PLN 26 billion from the NRP
01.12.2025
Today Poland has received PLN 26 billion from the European Commission from the fourth and fifth payment application under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRP). This means that our country has already received PLN 93 billion from the NRP in the framework of five NRP payment applications.
Next year, Poland will receive further funds from the NRP amounting to over PLN 100 billion. In December, Poland will submit two subsequent applications for payment amounting in total to over PLN 30 billion. NRP money is a significant investment stimulus for our economy; it is estimated that due to the NRP Poland's GDP will increase by 1.6 per cent.
By 24 November this year, 905 thousand agreements have been concluded under the NRP to cover projects for more than PLN 164 billion (68.3 per cent of all NRP funds).
The money from the fourth and fifth payment applications will be used for co-financing investment projects under the NRP, including those in the area of infrastructure and rolling stock, health care, energy.
Poland submitted 5 out of 9 NRP payment applications
Each Member State of the European Union is allowed to submit two NRP payment applications per year.
So far, Poland has submitted 5 out of 9 NRP payment applications. From three previous applications, our country has already received the total of PLN 67 billion – PLN 27 billion from the first application and PLN 40 billion from the 2nd and 3rd payment applications.
When will the next applications be submitted?
In order to submit further payment applications, Poland must complete the latest revision of the NRP, submitted to the European Commission in September this year. On 20 November this year, the College of Commissioners accepted the amendments proposed therein. On 12 December this year, the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) is expected to adopt the draft revised EU Council Executive Decision approving the amendments to the Polish NRP, formally completing its revision process.
Conducting and completing the revision of the NRP will enable sending of the sixth and seventh payment application under the NRP scheduled at the end of December this year.
The last NRP payment applications – the eighth and ninth – will be submitted in 2026.
