Claims can be pursued online through the electronic writ-of-payment proceedings. The court with jurisdiction to hear cases in electronic writ-of-payment proceedings is the only general e-court in Poland: Lublin-Zachód District Court in Lublin. The Regional Court in Lublin has jurisdiction to hear appeals.

Informacje:

  • Anyone with a PESEL number can open an account with the EPU (e.g. individuals, sole traders, authorised representatives).

    • the parties’ details including:
      • addresses, 
      • Polish resident’s identification numbers (PESEL), tax identification numbers (NIP) or other identification numbers,
    • a list of supporting documents (e.g. contracts, invoices),
    • the statement of claim, 
    • your bank account number.

    1. Register an account in the EPU system.
    2. Log in to the system.
    3. Complete the claim form.
    4. Sign the claim (using either the standard signature available in the EPU system or a qualified electronic signature).
    5. Pay the court fee.
       

  • Once you pay the court fee, the claim will be automatically submitted to the court.

  • The minimum court fee is PLN 30. The amount of the fee depends on the total value of the claims (the value of the matter of the dispute) and is equal to: 

    • up to 1,500 PLN – PLN 30;
    • over PLN 1,500 to PLN 4,000 – PLN 50;
    • over PLN 4,000 to PLN 7,500 – PLN 100;
    • over PLN 7,500 to PLN 10,000 – PLN 125;
    • over PLN 10,000 to PLN 15,000 – PLN 188;
    • over PLN 15,000 to PLN 20,000 – PLN 250;
    • over PLN 20,000 to PLN 2,000,000 – 1.25% of the value of the matter of the dispute; 
    • over PLN 2,000,000 – PLN 25,000.

    You must pay for the claim via the system only.

  • The time taken to resolve a case depends on the complexity of the case and the court’s current workload. 
    In 2025, the average waiting time for a payment order was 49 days.

  • The official language of the proceedings is Polish.

    • no need to attach any files,
    • lower costs than in traditional proceedings,
    • ability to act anywhere and at any time,
    • it takes about 30 minutes to complete the claim form.

  • Anyone who:

    • is a respondent in proceedings before the EPU (e-court),
    • has received a payment order and wishes to appeal against it (file an objection), 
    • has access to the case (e.g. an account in the EPU system or an access code).

    If you are a respondent and you disagree with an order for payment you have received, lodge an objection with the court.

    • your login credentials for the EPU system account, 
    • the access code you received from the court.

    1. Log in to the system.
    2. Find the case you wish to object to, or select the ‘Join the case’ option.
    3. Tick the box for electronic communication.
    4. Fill in the objection form.
    5. Sign the objection (using either the standard signature available in the EPU system or a qualified electronic signature).

  • You can file an objection by completing the online form.

  • There is no charge for lodging an objection.

  • Objections to payment orders are dealt with in chronological order, according to the date on which they are received by the court.
