Tribute to Andrzej Wajda in Rhodes

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Greece, the "Cine-Ekpaidefsi" (Cine-Education) Group, and the Municipality of Rhodes present a three-day tribute to the renowned master of European cinema, Andrzej Wajda, marking the centenary of his birth (1926-2016).
Screenings will take place from October 9 to 11, 2026, at the Rhodes Municipal Theatre, starting at 20:00, with free admission for the public. The tribute brings three of the acclaimed Polish director's most iconic works to Rhodes, offering the audience a rare cinematic experience. The program includes the following films:
- "The Birch Wood" (Friday, Oct. 9),
- "The Promised Land" (Saturday, Oct. 10),
- "Afterimage" (Sunday, Oct. 11)—his final, powerful film.
The launch of the tribute on October 9 holds special symbolic significance, as it coincides with the tenth anniversary of the passing of this great master of European cinema. Join us for a three-day event showcasing the poetic power and political acuity of Andrzej Wajda’s films.
