6–10 December 2021 – it is worth noting this date in your calendar. It is then than the IGF will take place in Katowice and Poland will become the capital of the global debate on the future of the Internet. We expect several thousand visitors from all over the world to come to the International Congress Centre in Katowice. However, everyone can speak in the debate. We are looking forward to this!

Common network

Internet Governance Forum is an international initiative of United Nations aimed at initiating and facilitating a global discussion on the development of the Internet and on the most recent phenomena associated with its functioning.

The debates engage representatives of different countries from all around the world, representatives of business – including the largest and most well-known Internet companies from various continents, as well as NGO activists and members of the academia.

– UN has appreciated our efforts on the international stage. For the first time, the Internet Governance Forum will be hosted by Poland. And it is in Poland that we will jointly take the most important decisions on the future of the global network: its development and further functioning, said Minister Marek Zagórski, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, responsible for digital affairs.
Internet Governance Forum UN will be a place of open and real debate The motto of this year’s conference is Internet United, which refers to free, indivisible, common Internet, understood as a network linking all users into one community, he adds.

Report a topic

– Internet Governance Forum in Poland will discuss global topics related to, among others, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, private networking and Internet access. In Europe, access to the network is good, but at the global level as many as half of the population do not have access to it, says Krzysztof Szubert, High Representative of the Prime Minister for European Digital Policy, Republic of Poland Plenipotentiary for UN IGF 2021.

What else will IGF participants talk about? It is also up to you! You have a unique opportunity to influence the programme of this year’s UN IGF. You just have to suggest a topic.

– The “zero” day is an event preceding IGF and is the ideal place for Polish partners. What will it look like? It depends on you. I would like to encourage Polish companies, organisations and institutions to submit their ideas. Thanks to our joint commitment, this could be a true Polish day at the IGF, explains Krzysztof Szubert.

You can submit suggestions for workshops, panels and events. We are open to your ideas. We look forward to receiving your proposals by May 31. The registration form can be found here. The event is free of charge.
