Preparations for the Internet Governance Forum 2021 in Poland

Exactly 12 months from now Poland will host the UN Internet Governance Forum 2021. Preparations are underway. Another IGF 2021 Steering Committee meeting has been held recently.

Krzysztof Szubert - High Representative of the Prime Minister for European Digital Policy and Republic of Poland Plenipotentiary for UN IGF 2021, representing Poland at the IGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG), is responsible for coordinating the organization of the IGF 2021 in Poland. 

Poland in the spotlight
IGF is an international initiative of the UN, which aims to initiate and facilitate a global discussion on the development of the Internet and on the most current and burning phenomena related to its functioning. It is attended by Heads of States from all over the world, business representatives - including the largest and best known Internet companies from different continents, activists of Non-Governmental Organizations and the scientific community. Theoreticians and practitioners.

The permanent Steering Committee of the Polish edition of IGF is composed, among others, of representatives of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Office of Electronic Communications, the National Research Institute NASK, the Digital Centre, the Kościuszko Institute as well as scientific and legal circles dealing with digital issues on a daily basis. 


The most important themes that should appear on the agenda of next year's IGF 2021 in Katowice were discussed during the meeting.


Everyone can have an influence on the subject of the global discussion, and thus on the future of the Internet. That is why we cordially invite representatives of all circles to cooperate - said Krzysztof Szubert, Republic of Poland Plenipotentiary for UN IGF 2021.

On December 6-10, 2021 we will meet at the International Congress Center in Katowice to make the most important decisions about the future of the Internet.

The UN Internet Governance Forum 2021 will be a place of open and real debate about the future of Internet platforms. The motto of next year's conference will be Internet United.
