6th Edition of Shantipath Debates: "Whither Without the UN? The Role of India and Europe in Reshaping Global Governance for the 21st Century”

On 30 June, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi hosted the sixth edition of the Shantipath Debates, a roundtable discussion devoted to the rapidly evolving architecture of global governance.

Participants in the sixth edition of the Shantipath Debates take part in a panel discussion. Suhasini Haidar, Dr Piotr Antoni Świtalski and Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj are seated at the table; Dr Świtalski is speaking and gesturing, with the flags of India, Poland and the European Union visible behind them.

The participants discussed the future of multilateralism at a time of declining trust in international institutions, the prospects and possible pathways for reforming the United Nations, and the roles that India and Europe could play in shaping a more effective and representative global order in the decades ahead.

Head of Mission Dr Piotr Antoni Świtalski delivered the welcoming remarks and took part in the discussion alongside Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj, former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, and Suhasini Haidar, Diplomatic Editor of The Hindu.

The Shantipath Debates continue to serve as an important platform for dialogue between Poland and India. By facilitating exchanges among diplomats, experts and opinion leaders, the series contributes to greater mutual understanding, supports the development of new bilateral initiatives and strengthens Europe’s engagement with India.
