The 7th Session of the India-Poland Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation was held in New Delhi during the visit of Deputy Foreign Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski and Deputy Minister for Economic Development Michał Baranowski from 12 to 15 July.

The Commission provided a platform to review bilateral economic relations and discuss ways to expand trade, investment and business cooperation. The talks focused on new areas of cooperation and closer engagement between Polish and Indian companies and institutions, while highlighting the growing economic dimension of the Poland–India Strategic Partnership.

The visit was accompanied by a strong business component. Polish and Indian companies took part in meetings and roundtables organised with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and ASSOCHAM. During the ASSOCHAM roundtable, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ASSOCHAM and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice (RIG Katowice), strengthening institutional links between the two business communities.

The programme of the Deputy Ministers’ visit also included political consultations with Secretary (West) Sibi George at the Ministry of External Affairs, as well as meetings at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), NASSCOM and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Both Deputy Ministers also met leading Indian experts and representatives of prominent think tanks and gave interviews to Indian media.

Together, the Joint Commission and the accompanying programme underlined the increasingly broad and practical character of Poland–India cooperation, with particular emphasis on trade, investment, technology, innovation and business-to-business relations.
