On 28th of January 2026, Dr. Piotr Antoni Świtalski, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland to India, conferred the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland upon Honorary Consul General in Nepal, Mr. Lokmanya Golchha.

The Order of Merit is one of Poland's highest civilian honours bestowed upon foreign nationals, awarded to individuals who have rendered exceptional service to the Polish State and contributed significantly to international cooperation.
The decoration recognised Mr. Golchha's sustained consular support for Polish citizens in Nepal, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The order follows the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit, conferred upon Mr. Golchha in 2015 by President Andrzej Duda for his role in assisting Polish nationals during the Nepal earthquake.
In his remarks, Dr. Świtalski noted Mr. Golchha's consistent engagement in support of Poland-Nepal relations. Mr. Golchha expressed his gratitude for the honour.
